UP Tourism Takes Another Step Forward with ‘Meri Kashi Creators Pathshala’ in Varanasi

लखनऊ / बनारस : Lucknow/Varanasi, September 3, 2025: As part of its continuous efforts to showcase Uttar Pradesh as a global tourism hub, UP Tourism, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism (Government of India) and the Varanasi District Administration, organized the ‘Meri Kashi Creators Pathshala’ at the Commissioner’s Office Auditorium. The event marked another milestone in UP Tourism’s mission to empower youth as cultural ambassadors of Kashi.
The Pathshala brought over 275 social media influencers, creators and students from BHU, Kashi Vidyapeeth and DAV College, along with winners of the Kashi Sansad Tourist Guide Pratiyogita. They were trained on 170 stories of Kashi and

Sarnath while learning new-age storytelling and social media techniques to narrate these stories to wider domestic and international audiences.
*Empowering Youth Through UP Tourism*
Sessions led by Varanasi Guru focused on storytelling techniques such as emotional graphing, personalization and theatre of mind, while YouTube experts guided participants on reels, digital reach, engagement and monetization. UP Tourism and the district administration also created a dedicated WhatsApp group to keep the participants connected under the Meri Kashi Ambassadors Programme.
Speaking about the event, Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh said:
“This Pathshala reflects UP Tourism’s vision of combining tradition with technology. By training our youth as storytellers, we are ensuring that the unique stories of Kashi reach global platforms and inspire travellers from across the world.”
Highlighting Kashi’s international potential, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Mukesh Kumar Meshram said:
“Through this event, UP Tourism has once again shown how local youth can play a vital role in shaping visitor experiences. By turning them into authentic storytellers, we are making Kashi more accessible for international travellers while also opening new livelihood opportunities for our people.”
*Building Global Connections*
Divisional Commissioner S. Rajalingam announced a 4-hour Meri Kashi course module under UP Tourism, through which participants who create engaging reels with #MeriKashi will be certified as ‘Meri Kashi Ambassadors.’ These Ambassadors will also be featured on the official UP Tourism website, helping both domestic and foreign tourists connect with authentic local voices.
The event reinforced UP Tourism’s commitment to strengthening Varanasi’s identity as a global tourism destination, where tradition meets innovation, and the voices of local youth carry the stories of Kashi to the world.
