Lucknow : Lucknow, September 3, 2025 : Ayodhya is set to host a grand celebration of Deepotsav 2025 on October 19, with the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department announcing a special aerial drone show as the highlight of this year’s festivities. Over 1,000 indigenous drones will illuminate the skies, artistically narrating episodes from the Ramayana and portraying Lord Ram, Lakshman, and Hanuman in heroic forms.

The drone show, lasting around 15 minutes, will be supported by laser lights, voiceovers, and musical narration, offering a memorable experience to lakhs of devotees and visitors expected to attend. Alongside this, millions of earthen lamps will illuminate the ghats of the Saryu River, while cultural performances, processions, and religious ceremonies will recreate the grandeur of Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya.
Principal Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Mukesh Kumar Meshram said, “The preparations for Deepotsav 2025 are being carried out with great care. Our aim is to ensure that every visitor returns with an unforgettable experience of Ayodhya’s traditions. At the same time, we are focusing on providing proper facilities for devotees, including crowd management, sanitation, and live streaming, so that the celebrations remain accessible and comfortable for all.”
Officials shared that rehearsals will be conducted in advance to ensure the smooth execution of the drone show, which will take place at Ram ki Paidi. The Tourism Department is working with various agencies to ensure that arrangements, from lighting to visitor amenities, meet the highest standards.
Deepotsav has grown in scale and significance over the years, drawing not only pilgrims from across India but also international visitors keen to witness the blend of devotion, culture, and heritage. With this year’s theme, the government aims to reinforce Ayodhya’s place as a centre of global spiritual tourism.
