Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, has officially unveiled its new flagship SUV – the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. Positioned above the Brezza in the Arena lineup, the Victoris aims to take on heavyweights in the mid-size SUV segment with a promise that it has truly “Got It All.” With a 5-star BNCAP rating, premium features, and hybrid options, the Victoris looks set to become one of Maruti’s most ambitious launches.

Safety First

Maruti has long faced questions on safety, but the Victoris addresses them head-on. It comes with 6 airbags as standard and proudly flaunts a 5-star BNCAP crash test rating. In a first for the brand, the Victoris introduces Level-2 ADAS in the Indian market. The suite includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with curve speed reduction, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and high beam assist. The SUV also offers disc brakes on all four wheels, along with an electronic parking brake and auto-hold function.

Design & Dimensions

The Victoris boasts a modern yet balanced design. The front fascia resembles the e-Vitara, with sleek LED headlamps linked by a thin chrome ribbon and a dual-tone bumper with integrated fog lamps. The side profile highlights its length with a large quarter glass and 17-inch aero-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, connected LED tail lamps feature a unique scattered glow pattern.

In terms of size, the Victoris measures 4,360 mm in length, 1,655 mm in width, and 1,795 mm in height, with a 2,600 mm wheelbase. Customers can choose from 10 colours—including two new ones, Mystic Green and Eternal Blue—across monotone and dual-tone options.

Interiors & Features

Step inside, and the Victoris feels premium and spacious. The three-layer dashboard features dual-tone black and ivory trims with soft-touch panels. Piano black inserts and textured upholstery further enhance the cabin’s upmarket vibe.

Tech-savvy buyers will appreciate the 10.1-inch Smartplay Pro-X infotainment unit, paired with an 8-speaker Infinity sound system with Dolby Atmos 5.1 surround sound. Another standout is the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a first for any Maruti car. Additional features include ventilated seats, a powered driver seat, wireless charger, 360-degree camera, front & rear sensors, 64-colour ambient lighting, and a PM2.5 air filter. Even practicality hasn’t been ignored—the S-CNG variants now place the cylinder under the boot floor for improved luggage space.

Engine & Performance

Under the hood, the Victoris shares powertrains with the Grand Vitara. Buyers can choose from:

1.5L NA petrol engine: 103 hp, 139 Nm, with 5-speed MT or 6-speed AT options. Available with CNG and AWD variants (All Grip Select with Auto, Snow, Sport, and Lock modes).

1.5L strong-hybrid engine: 92.5 hp, 122 Nm, paired with an e-CVT gearbox.

Mileage

Efficiency remains a strong point. The 1.5L petrol delivers 21.18 km/l (MT) and 21.06 km/l (AT), while the AWD drops to 19.07 km/l. The CNG variant offers 27.02 km/kg, and the strong-hybrid boasts an impressive 28.65 km/l.
