Gharaunda, Karnal 22nd May : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is on a visit to Haryana today. He addressed a rally in Gharaunda, Karnal, where he appealed for votes for former CM and Lok Sabha candidate Manohar Lal Khattar. Singh said, "You are fortunate to have a candidate like Manohar Lal Khattar. No one can accuse him of anything. You might think I am praising him too much, but there must be something special about him if even the Prime Minister praises him."

Rajnath Singh continued, "Under our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new India is being built. Today, India has become wealthy. You know that Goddess Lakshmi never arrives with a broom or by waving her hand; she always arrives on a lotus flower.”

Rajnath Singh also criticized the Congress party, saying, "Congress is filled with peculiar characters. Rahul Gandhi says your property will be surveyed, and you people might be happy about it. Their advisors, like Sam Pitroda, are among them. Congress says when the head of the family dies, half of his property will be seized by the government. We want healthy people. I don't know what has happened to them."

He added, "We are not weak in matters of defense. They (Congress) once said that the army should be counted based on how many Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians are in it."

Rajnath Singh emphasized that the country is progressing, "Earlier, when I used to go abroad and speak at international forums, people would leave to have tea. But today, it is a matter of pride that when India speaks, the whole world listens attentively."

In terms of wealth, Rajnath Singh stated, "Our nation is recognized worldwide. By 2027, India will become the third-largest economy in the world. It will be the USA, China, and then India. Mark my words today, by 2047, India will become a global superpower."

Singh mentioned that a Pakistani MP has acknowledged that India is on its way to becoming a global superpower. "I didn't say this; a Pakistani MP did. We will become a global superpower not to conquer or invade any country, but for the welfare of the world."

Rajnath Singh criticized political parties for not fulfilling their promises, "A real person is one who fulfills what they say. But all political parties say one thing and do another. This fits the Congress party the best. Prime Minister Nehru had said that now that the country is independent, we will eradicate poverty."

He added, "Since then, Congress leaders have been claiming to eradicate poverty, but if anyone has truly eradicated poverty, it is our government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought 25 crore people out of poverty so far. We had promised that once our government is formed, we will remove Article 370 from Kashmir, and we did it in one stroke after forming the government."

Rajnath Singh continued, "We also said that a Ram temple would be built in Ayodhya. After forming the government, the Ram temple in Ayodhya was constructed."

He pointed out that from 2004 to 2014, under Congress rule, India was in the 11th position globally. "Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi came, we have moved from 11th to 5th position. Our nation is recognized worldwide in terms of wealth. By 2027, India will become the third-largest economy in the world. It will be the USA, China, and then India. By 2047, India will become a global superpower."

Rajnath Singh also attacked Congress over their emergency rule, "They say Modi is a dictator. In the 1975 elections, when Indira Gandhi lost, she imposed an emergency in the country. I was 24 years old and had to spend 18 months in jail. Congress choked democracy. My mother died in shock, and the Congress government didn't even grant me parole."
