New Delhi, 26th November: On the 16th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to countering terrorism with a resolute response. Speaking during the Constitution Day celebrations at the Supreme Court on Tuesday, PM Modi paid homage to the victims of the heinous attacks and reiterated the nation’s determination to safeguard its security.
“On this important occasion when we celebrate the festival of democracy, we cannot forget that today marks the anniversary of the Mumbai terror attacks. I pay tribute to those who lost their lives in this attack and assure the nation that every terrorist organisation challenging India’s security will face a befitting reply,” the Prime Minister declared.
The Constitution: A Guiding Light for India
During his address, PM Modi highlighted the enduring importance of the Constitution, describing it as not merely a document for lawyers but a beacon for the nation. He underscored how it has stood the test of time, even during periods of adversity like the Emergency.
“The Constitution is our guiding light, showing us the right path even in the darkest times. We have seen how it faced challenges to democracy during the Emergency era, yet emerged stronger,” he remarked.
Constitution Fully Implemented in Jammu and Kashmir
Reflecting on a landmark achievement, the Prime Minister noted that the Indian Constitution is now fully implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that this milestone reflects the power and resilience of the Constitution.
“It is a historic moment for our country that today, in Jammu and Kashmir, Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution is being implemented in its entirety. For the first time, Constitution Day is being celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir, marking a new chapter in its democratic journey,” PM Modi said.
