लखनऊ : Lucknow, April 21 : In a major push to enhance the experience of pilgrims and tourists visiting Ayodhya, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is set to build six integrated gate complexes at the city’s main entry points. These modern complexes will offer a wide range of amenities, including star rated as well as budget hotels, dormitories, tourism information centres, craft galleries, shopping zones, cafeterias, and more.
The initiative aims to provide a seamless and elevated experience to visitors. These gate complexes will be developed under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, and the tender process has already started. Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister, Jaiveer Singh, said, “The number of visitors to Ayodhya is increasing every day, which has put the upgrading of tourism infrastructure as a priority area. Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, is not just a spiritual hub but a symbol of India’s cultural richness. Following the construction of the Ram Temple, Ayodhya has emerged as a prominent religious tourism destination on the global map.”
The six gate complexes will come up at Shri Ram Dwar (Lucknow Road), Lakshman Dwar (Gonda Road), Bharat Dwar (Sultanpur Road), Hanuman Dwar (Gorakhpur Road), Jatayu Dwar (Ambedkar Nagar Road), and Garud Dwar (Raebareli Road). Each complex will function as an integrated service centre, offering facilities like restaurants, MICE services (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), food courts, multi-level parking for cars and buses, CNG and petrol stations, event lawns, and essential utilities.
These gate complexes are part of a larger master plan and are being developed based on a zone-specific planning approach.
Land within each complex will be allocated for various tourism-related activities and will be developed with private investment in infrastructure.
In addition to accommodation and hospitality services, the complexes will feature amphitheaters, landscaped public areas, roads, electricity and water supply systems, dedicated power stations, water treatment plants, and security infrastructure.
“Ayodhya is not just a city of faith; it represents India’s glorious heritage. The state government is committed to transforming Ayodhya into a global spiritual and cultural tourism hub with modern infrastructure. Our goal is to elevate both its religious and cultural identity on the world stage”, added Jaiveer Singh
The project marks a significant step in positioning Ayodhya as a world-class destination while preserving its spiritual essence and heritage. |
