मुंबई :
Mumbai, August 26, 2025 : Actor Alia Bhatt has raised concerns over the circulation of videos showing her under-construction home in Mumbai, calling it a serious invasion of privacy. The videos, reportedly taken without her consent, have been shared across social media platforms and publications, prompting Alia to speak out and request their immediate removal.
In a detailed statement, Alia emphasized that while space in Mumbai is limited, it does not justify filming or photographing private residences without permission. She wrote, “A video of our home – still under construction – has been recorded and circulated by multiple publications, without our knowledge or consent. This is a clear invasion of privacy and a serious security issue.”
Alia clarified that filming private spaces without consent is not “content” but a violation of privacy. “It should never be normalized,” she said, urging the public not to share such material further. She posed a rhetorical question to emphasize her point: “Would you tolerate videos of the inside of your home being shared publicly, without you knowing? None of us would.”
She directly addressed media outlets and content creators, requesting them to take down any such material immediately. Her message highlighted the importance of respecting personal boundaries, noting that privacy is a right that should not be compromised, regardless of a person’s celebrity status.
Fans and followers quickly responded in support of Alia’s stance. Many suggested that she pursue legal action to prevent future violations, with one comment stating, “Without consent if recorded should be legally case, but on others never allow any media also to cover anyone, privacy is privacy, respect privacy.”
The video in question reportedly showed a close-up view of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s Bandra residence, which spans multiple floors and is being designed to house the couple along with their daughter, Raha, and Neetu Kapoor. The property, still under construction, is estimated to be worth ₹250 crore.
This is not the first time the celebrity couple’s privacy has been encroached upon. Alia’s firm request reflects growing frustration among public figures in India over intrusive coverage of personal spaces. Her statement underscores that public curiosity should not override legal and ethical boundaries regarding private property.
By speaking out, Alia Bhatt also aims to set a precedent, calling on both the media and social media users to exercise discretion and respect the sanctity of personal spaces. The actress’s post serves as a reminder that behind fame and public personas, celebrities are entitled to the same privacy rights as anyone else.
As India’s media landscape continues to blur lines between public and private life, Alia’s assertive response highlights the ongoing struggle of celebrities to safeguard their homes and families from unwanted attention.
Her message concludes with a clear appeal: anyone coming across such content should refrain from sharing it further, and media outlets must ensure immediate removal of unauthorized videos to prevent further breaches of privacy.
