Yogi govt to speed up the installation of Liquid Oxygen Storage tanks in medical colleges

News Image Lucknow :  Committed to providing quality health care services along with improving the medical infrastructure of Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has paved the way for setting up of liquid oxygen storage tanks in nine autonomous state medical colleges as well as approved financial grants for several pending projects.

The financial and administrative clearance has been granted for disbursing a total amount of Rs 86.58 lakh to establish liquid oxygen storage tanks in autonomous state medical colleges of Kanpur Dehat, Bijnor, Pilibhit, Auraiya, Gonda, Chandauli, Lalitpur, Sonbhadra, and Lakhimpur Kheri through this initiative.

Consequently, the way has been cleared for providing funds

- Liquid Oxygen Tanks to be installed in medical colleges of several districts of UP
- Rs 86.58 lakh approved for positioning LOX in 9 autonomous state medical colleges

of Rs 9.62 lakh, including GST for setting up liquid oxygen storage tanks in each of the autonomous state medical colleges.

Viewing the shortage of liquefied oxygen, on July 11 of this year, autonomous state medical colleges in Kanpur Dehat, Bijnor, Pilibhit, Auraiya, Gonda, Chandauli, Lalitpur, Sonbhadra, and Lakhimpur Kheri had urged state government's assistance in establishing units for liquid oxygen storage tanks.

The step of the Yogi Government will help overcome patients at all shortage of oxygen at all these autonomous state medical colleges, ensuring easy access of patients to diagnosis within their respective districts.

*First installment of funds released for footover bridge at RML*

The first installment for the construction of a foot-over bridge at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences has been released. This bridge will connect the main campus to the academic block in Lucknow. Initially, the project was estimated to cost a total of Rs 4.56 crore, and according to Chief Minister Yogi's intentions, the first installment of Rs 2.28 crore has been released.

Additionally, 18% GST has been allocated for purchasing materials for construction under this project. This will help expedite the construction of the foot-over bridge at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, benefiting patients, staff, and doctors.
